A learning experience for educational professionals, mediators, facilitators, arbitrators and attorneys in the post George Floyd era

• Explore new frameworks and mental models for effective communication across race, gender, and core identities
• Deepen understanding of implicit, explicit and confirmation biases
• Learn new skills related to multicultural/multiracial communication effectiveness
• Enhance and advance knowledge base, skills and strategies relevant to power, privilege and oppression
• Adjust in real time when bias or micro-aggressions are brought to your attention
• Use Embodiment Theory and Somatics for Grounding and re-grounding the self for cross-cultural effectiveness

Speaker

Donald Proby
 

Donald Proby has been an educator, professional mediator, facilitator, motivational speaker and consultant for more than 30 years. He has a long history working in the areas of peace-building & mediation for diversity, inclusion and belonging; holistic health and public health education. Donald has worked extensively across sectors to help organizations build resilient business practices and community engagement efficacy, including government, nonprofit, and corporate settings. He serves as Lead Trainer for the Community Boards of San Francisco Mediation Program, Adjunct Faculty at San Francisco State University and St. Mary’s College of California, facilitating learning in leadership and conflict transformation studies. Donald has also worked as an executive consultant with Courageous Leaders and most recently, has joined the faculty at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
