This Know Your Rights forum features two prominent criminal law attorneys who will educate you about racial inequalities in the criminal justice system, address what you should do if you are stopped by law enforcement, and answer your questions about the criminal justice system. 

This program is for lawyers and non-lawyers alike! Whether you are a civil practitioner wanting to brush up on your Crim Law 101, a community organizer, or a citizen concerned about what to do when witnessing police brutality, please join us for this very important program.

  • What to do if stopped by law enforcement; 
  • Insight and statistics on the disproportionate arrest and incarceration rates of African Americans;
  • A brief history of the prison population increase of African Americans; and 
  • A question and answer period.
