The pandemic was an unprecedented national emergency that resulted a host of new policies designed to address the problem. In the process though, employers, businesses, policy makers often failed to anticipate how those policies might disproportionately affect historically disadvantaged communities of color. This panel seeks to discuss those impacts in the key areas of employment, health care, housing, and criminal justice. In doing so, the panel hopes to bring awareness to overseen issue to help mitigate similar disproportionate effects moving forward.

• Health Care, including impacts of testing site locations, contact tracing policies, and under representation in vaccine studies
• Housing, including impacts of historical zoning discrimination and its down-stream effects on resource access, stay at home orders, and rental moratoriums and assistance
• Criminal Justice, including historically disproportionate incarceration rates and its down-steam effects on prison safety, outbreak, and vaccine policies

Substitution, Cancellation, and Refund Requests

For CLE events of 1.5 hours or less, Lunch & Learn programs, Happy Hours, Receptions, and Mixers, a refund is available if you submit your cancellation request at least 48 hours prior to the event. A $10 handling fee will deducted from your refund. Please complete the Event Cancellation Form.

For CLE events longer than 1.5 hours, and for special events such as conferences, symposiums, professional development training programs, a 50% refund is available if you cancel at least 10 business days prior to the event. Please complete the Event Cancellation Form.

If you are unable to attend, you may send a substitute. Please complete the Event Cancellation Form.
