SESSION I: Careers in Labor and Employment Law
4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Labor and employment law is an expanding field encompassing matters including sexual harassment, employment discrimination, wage and hour, unionization, unfair labor practices, restrictive covenants, privacy, government contractor requirements, and work rules come to mind. Are you interested in the area? Find out what practitioners do on a day-to-day basis, how they got to where they are, and their perspectives on hiring.

The field of environmental law is expansive; it touches all of the elements: air, water, and land. A practitioner in this area may be involved with air quality permitting, litigation to clean up contaminated groundwater, or the regulatory process to approve major construction. Are you interested in learning what a career in environmental law might look like? Find out what an environmental attorney’s work looks like on a day-today basis, how they got involved in the field. Importantly, find out what the emerging trends are, where the work is, and get perspectives on what employers are looking for.

This panel will offer you the opportunity to hear from attorneys working in the Art Law field and how they etched their path to a career in Art Law.  Panelists will provide insight into a variety of careers in Art Law including working as a solo practitioner, in-house counsel, special counsel, government attorney, and litigator with a focus on intellectual property disputes. Whether you’re interested in turning your passion for arts and culture into a career or are looking to work with arts professionals, galleries, museums, auction houses, donors or others in the art industry, this panel is for you!
