In the over-half-century since the passage of the Controlled Substances Act, the failed War on Drugs has wreaked incalculable harm, and disproportionately, on communities of color. Five years after the Oakland City Council passed the first-in-the-U.S. cannabis social equity ordinance, other California jurisdictions, as well as other states and their local governments, have followed with their own approaches. Join California state and Bay Area cannabis regulators to sharpen your knowledge of the legislative and regulatory landscape for the cannabis social equity movement.
Topics
- Historical background for cannabis social equity
- California state-wide approaches to cannabis social equity
- Oakland and San Francisco approaches to cannabis social equity
- The future for cannabis social equity in California
