You just got a judgment from the trial court. An appeal may be in the works. Whether you won or lost, what exactly happens next? Join Elizabeth Holt Andrews of Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP and Dan Huckabay of Court Surety Bond Agency as they provide you with a primer on procedures and best practices for seeking and opposing stays of execution of judgment pending appeal, as well as step-by-step process for obtaining appeal bonds. Learn what considerations and advice you should share with your clients as you help them navigate the post-judgment landscape, including timelines, common pitfalls, and key decision points. The presenters will conclude with a case study showing the life cycle of a judgment whose execution was stayed by means of an appeal bond, which eventually got reversed on appeal several years later.
