With new technologies and the dawn of AI, privacy and cybersecurity laws continue to develop and the job market has undergone remarkable growth with it. However, given the specialized nature of this work, many who are not already in the trenches ask: How do I enter this field? Why do all entry-level roles need 2-5 years experience? Do I need to learn to code? What is privacy even about?
BASF’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Section presents a “how to” in what the privacy profession looks like in practice, and navigating the challenges to entering this field. Whether you’re a law student, an attorney looking to explore a new practice or lateral to a new firm or company, or an experienced privacy and cybersecurity attorney looking for opportunities to mentor or help others interested in the field, we encourage to join us for our inaugural mentorship event exploring how to break into the exciting legal fields of privacy and cybersecurity and develop a flourishing career in this area.
Learn and hear insights from a panel of experienced attorneys on the different pathways and career trajectories you can take to be a data privacy and cybersecurity, including across in-house, government, and private practice. Learn more about how to be involved with the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Section’s new privacy law career mentorship program, The Privacy Pods!
