Topics
- This session will cover BASF’s two published opinions on representation of clients in class and mass actions:
- May an attorney ethically initiate representation of a large group of plaintiffs in a tort action?
- What ethical obstacles must an attorney consider before undertaking such joint/multiple client representation?
- What ethical obstacles may a lawyer face during the joint representation of a large group of clients in a mass tort action, and how should those issues be addressed in accordance with a lawyer’s ethical obligations?
- The panel will also use recently published topic-specific materials, e.g., Richard Zitrin’s recent law review
